Sharon Williamson is a highly skilled strategic event planning and management professional with over 23 years of experience in the events and exhibitions industry. She has served both domestic and international company/division leaders, Sr. Event Planners/Managers, and Directors of Events with strategic consulting, project planning, event design, creative problem solving, logistics & event management as well as site selection, hotel negotiation and contracting and virtual platform and technology assessment for their events, conferences, incentives & programs. Sharon’s most recent clients include Dell Technologies, Emerson Process Management, SAE International, Texas Academy of General Dentistry, the National Association of County and City Health Officials and British Petroleum that includes support for events throughout the United States as well as in Europe, Asia and Central America.

Sharon especially enjoys the challenge of creating order out of the seeming chaos in crisis, as well as first time events, navigating new platforms, large-scale and fast-paced projects and events. Highly skilled and experienced in project leadership, Sharon has an exceptional ability to assess and work a way forward to create systems, processes and plans that finalize in events and experiences that are both seamless and first-class.

In 2010, Sharon was awarded the ConferenceDirect Alliance Award for outstanding leadership for her role as project leader of the 25 member ConferenceDirect conference management team that supported BP during the Deepwater Horizon oil spill recovery project in the Gulf of Mexico. The project was unprecedented in size, scope and longevity and included managing the planning for and flow of onsite personnel support, logistics and planning for 5 response centers, creating and managing new housing assignment and management systems, securing and managing transportation, supporting development of detailed emergency evacuation plans and procedures and more.

Sharon earned and has continued to hold the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation from the Convention Industry Council since 1997. In addition, Sharon is a Certified ConferenceDirect Specialist (CDS) and Certified ConferenceDirect Conference Manager (CCM).
